I've got a question. How do I contact you?
You can mail us at bookcrossingconvention@gmail.com

How do I get to Amsterdam?
If you're not coming by car, other possibilities include coming by train to the main station Amsterdam Central Station and by airplane to Schiphol Airport. Both have a good public transport connection to the Griffin

Where should I stay?
We have provided a list of recommended hotels and hostels in the area, for different budgets. Another thing we recommend is this campsite which also has chalets and cottages for rent. You will probably find the organisation crew plus lots more BookCrossers at this location :)

I'm not from a EU country, where do I get euros?
Most likely you will be able to get them at your own bank, and there are also many options near Central Station and the Airport where you can exchange your money. For rates, see this exchange rate site for example

How do I get around in Amsterdam?
The easiest ways to get around are by public transport, or, but mainly for natives ;) by bicycle. The public transport is quite good, and has fast connections to the centre of town. Bicycles are for rent at many places, also just around the corner from the Griffin Theatre.

Can I leave my luggage at the Griffin?
Sorry, no. You'll have to keep your luggage elsewhere. Your hotel, camping, car (put it out of sight in the trunk) or in a locker at the Central Station, for example, if you don't want to keep it at hand.

What is the maximum amount of guests?
There is a security limit of 250 people on the main hall. Make sure to order early, and don't miss out.

How much will tickets be?
Until December 31st 2009, tickets will be € 40 for the early birds. Starting January 1st 2010, tickets will be € 50.

I can't make it. Can I get a refund?
Sorry, no. We do not refund tickets. You can, however, sell your ticket to someone else. Just make sure you let us know who is coming in your place: bookcrossingconvention@gmail.com

Can I come just 1 or 2 out of the 3 days of the event?
Well, that's up to you really. We'd rather see you come all three days and join in the fun, but if you can only make it for part of the event we'll just have to make do until you do arrive. ;-)
Unfortunately though, we don't have day tickets so you will have to pay full price.

I'm a vegetarian/vegan, is it easy to find good food in your country?
Yes, quite. Almost every restaurant will have a least one vegetarian dish on the menu, and some even specialise in it.

I'm a smoker / I can't stand smoke, what's your country's smoking policy?
You are by law not allowed to smoke indoors in public buildings including train stations, shops, restaurants, cafes and so on. The convention venue is a non-smoking area. You are allowed to smoke outside in general.

I'm in a wheelchair, is the building equipped for that?
Yes it is! There are electronic doors for the main entrances, and there is an elevator in the building. The floors are even. An toilet equipped for people in wheelchairs is present in the lobby.

I have a great idea about things I want to make for/guests you should have at/items I want to donate to/etc this Convention!
